EKB Repository

Senior Frontend Engineer Online · repository.ekb.eg ↗

AI-powered academic knowledge platform · Egyptian Knowledge Bank

NOTEThe live repository sits behind Egypt's WAF and only answers Egyptian traffic — you need a real Egyptian IP address to open it.

Led the frontend of a large-scale academic repository unifying semantic search, hierarchical content, and enterprise data ingestion across 600K+ records — with sub-second discovery.

  • Ask AI conversational search returning peer-reviewed, source-backed scholarly answers
  • Full English ⇄ Arabic RTL switching with optimized Arabic typography and a unified design system
  • Embedded PDF reading with DOI links, citation metrics, and similar-item recommendations
  • Admin ops: Recharts analytics, geographic heat maps, harvester job config with real-time ETL logs

Where I've built

Jan 2026 — Apr 2026

Senior Frontend Engineer — EKB Repository

NotionWave · Full-time · 4 mos · Remote, Dubai, UAE

Led the frontend of an AI-powered academic repository for the Egyptian Knowledge Bank — semantic discovery, bilingual RTL support, and admin analytics at 600K+ record scale.

May 2024 — Jan 2026

Senior Frontend Engineer — Enterprise AI Workspace

Troweb · Full-time · 1 yr 9 mos · Remote, Dubai, UAE

Modernized an enterprise AI workspace: multi-model chat, streaming agentic UI, custom Keycloak identity, and a zero-downtime migration off a legacy monolith.

Jan 2025 — Jun 2025

Lead Full-Stack Developer — AI SaaS Platform

NextDocs · Part-time · 6 mos · Remote, Sydney, Australia

Owned the platform end to end — product architecture, AI generation pipelines, real-time collaboration, and the Kubernetes infrastructure it all runs on.

Sep 2021 — May 2024

Freelance Software Engineer

Self-employed · 2 yrs 9 mos · Remote, Karaj, Iran

Delivered client platforms end to end — including the Conjuring Escape Room's IoT game-master system and the backend and infrastructure for a real-time Mafia/Werewolf mobile game.

04 / WORD OF MOUTH

What colleagues say

I worked with Mohammad for about two years, and it was a great experience throughout that time. He is someone I'd trust to take ownership of a feature, and his technical skills, reliability, and collaborative attitude make him a great engineer to work with. What stood out most was his team-first mindset. He always looked beyond his own tasks and was willing to help others to get the project delivered.
Mehdi Sadeghpour · Technical Lead, NotionWave
I had the pleasure of working with Mohammad across several projects. Throughout our work together, he consistently stood out as someone I could rely on and trust, both professionally and personally. What I appreciated most was his ability to take on challenges, manage pressure, and help the team move forward when things got complicated. He always brought thoughtful ideas to the table and had a great ability to turn challenges into practical solutions that ultimately made our projects better. Beyond his technical and problem-solving skills, Mohammad is genuinely a great person to work with. He is supportive, dependable, and someone who makes a real difference to the team. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him and would be happy to recommend him to any team or organization.
Ariyan Fallah · Software Engineer, AI-Native Products
I've known Mohammad for years, and he has always been someone I could count on. His passion, kindness, and willingness to help truly stand out. I'm grateful to have had his support over the years and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and genuinely great person to work with.
Arman Rezasefat · Workflow Automation Specialist
Working with Mohammad has always been an exciting and genuinely impressive experience. He is one of the fastest learners I've ever met, the kind of engineer who absorbs complex concepts in a very short time and immediately applies them in real project environments with clarity and precision. His energy is contagious — a true motivation engine who keeps the team moving forward with confidence.
Sohrab Moradi · C++/Qt Software Engineer
Mohammad is a strong full-stack developer. On the backend, he has solid experience with Node.js, designing clean, well-structured APIs and services. On the frontend, he works confidently with Remix and Next.js. What sets him apart is his precision and attention to detail — his code is modular, maintainable, and thoughtfully organized.
Alireza Hariri · Software Architect, NotionWave
I had the pleasure of working with Mohammad for about a year, often pairing together across various backend/frontend work. He's a thoughtful, reliable teammate, and our pair programming sessions were always a great way to solve problems and learn from each other. I'd definitely recommend him!
Aria Khoshnood · Senior Software Engineer, LLM/RAG
Mohammad and I worked on the same product at Troweb — I was on the backend team, he was on frontend. He read specs before building against them; his questions came up front, while there was still time to change something. He built the streaming AI response UI, the search and retrieval interface, and the auth flows — all three unforgiving kinds of frontend work.
Saleh Montazeran · Software Engineer
I've had the pleasure of working closely with Mohammad on the Troweb project. What truly sets him apart is his approach to problem-solving — before jumping to solutions, he always takes the time to deeply understand the problem from multiple angles, researches similar solutions, and brings everything together into ideas that are both practical and innovative.
Erfan Asadi · Frontend Tech Lead, NotionWave

05 / ABOUT

Scope over tickets

I don't think of full-stack as a list of frameworks. It's the ability to connect product requirements directly to architecture — to own the responsive canvas editor and the Kubernetes cluster it deploys to, the prompt workflow and the CI pipeline that ships it.

The last three years have been spent building AI-native platforms: document automation used by 20,000+ people, an enterprise knowledge workspace orchestrating three LLMs, a national academic repository serving 600K+ records in two languages, a Persian-first learning marketplace where content, commerce, and progress tracking live in one RTL product, a Persian wellness platform pairing courses, consultations, and personalized diet plans with the admin system that runs them, and a personal ideation platform that carries an idea from first thought through action, attempt, reflection and shared feedback. The common thread — quiet, fast interfaces backed by infrastructure that doesn't wake anyone up at night.
